Frank Shipuleski

Frank Shipuleski

Customer Relationship Manager

Experience. Frank is our Customer Relationship Manager. We asked Frank to take on the this role, because we want all our customers to know Frank and be able to benefit from his wealth of experience. Frank started in DATTCO’s preventive maintenance shop in 1987. After being promoted to run the PM shop, he ran our Middletown location as a foreman maintaining DATTCO’s school bus fleet. When the Sales & Service division was established in 1992, Frank was named service manager, eventually returning to the dealership as the New Britain location manager.

How He Can Help. Frank wants to be your first call whenever you have an issue; his wealth of experience running both fleets and dealerships makes him an excellent resource for all our customers. He understands fleet maintenance — from managing vehicles to parts, service, and warranties — “anything to do with the maintenance of a bus,” as he says. He also has experience managing special projects for customers, having transformed buses into mobile libraries, simulators, tax offices, and more. Frank has been at the forefront of efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on customers’ vehicles by installing protective barriers of different kinds. He’s a problem solver who’s ready to help.

Ron King

Ron King

Technical Director

Experience. Ron is our Technical Support Director. He started working at DATTCO in 1988 as the foreman of the DATTCO Middletown school location. In 1991 he created and ran the rebuild Department, where he and his team rebuilt engines, transmissions, starters, alternators, and more. He was DATTCO’s first fleet maintenance trainer, and in 2014 his training program was formalized through the creation of the DATTCO Technical Education Center (DTEC). He has been an ASE Master certified technician for over 25 years and has won ASE/NAPA Technician of the Year in 2016. He was also among the very first group of technicians to become “Diamond-certified” by Navistar.

How He Can Help. There isn’t much on your bus that Ron doesn’t understand or more importantly have the means to figure out. If you have questions about tooling, have issues with OnCommand or other information systems, need technical or operating information, or have any mechanical problems nagging you, he’s the guy who can help you figure it out.

Mike Munson

Mike Munson

Parts Manager

Experience. Mike is our Parts Manager, who oversees the sale and management of bus parts at all our locations. Hired initially as a warehouse manager, Mike has been at DATTCO for 17 years. He also worked as a back-counter salesman and a front-counter salesman before being promoted to Parts Manager in 2010. Mike has been a Navistar Champions Club member for the last two years. He is a trained Navistar parts expert and is ranked 349 in the nation out of more than 24,000 for all Navistar vehicle, parts, and service training. He has been integral to countless special projects, including the adoption of our Dealer Management Software (for which he is our resident expert), and the development of our coronavirus prevention barrier system.

How He Can Help. Mike is your guy for any parts sourcing issues, setting up a FleetCharge account, or advice on major parts purchases. Regardless of the make of the bus that you are buying parts for, Mike can help.
